Claim: A Facebook Page, Football Mondial, claimed that Cristiano Ronaldo had gifted Rolls-Royces to his Al Nassr teammates after winning the Saudi Pro League.
Verdict: False! DUBAWA fact check found no official evidence supporting the claim, and no credible news organisation has reported it.
Full Text
Cristiano Ronaldo has finally lifted his first major trophy with Al Nassr, guiding the Saudi giants to the Saudi Pro League title just days after enduring one of the most painful defeats of his career in the AFC Champions League Two final.
Only a week earlier, Ronaldo and Al Nassr were left devastated after a 1–0 loss to Gamba Osaka in the AFC final. The decisive strike from Deniz Hümmet denied the Portuguese star continental glory, while his refusal to collect the runner-up medal drew headlines worldwide.
That defeat followed another setback against Al Hilal SFC, where a late error cost Al Nassr the chance to seal the league title early. Critics questioned whether Ronaldo’s Saudi adventure would end without silverware.
With 973 career goals, Cristiano Ronaldo is the only player to have won league titles in Italy, England, Spain, and Saudi Arabia. However, a Facebook page called Football Mondial claimed that Cristiano Ronaldo had gifted Rolls-Royces to his Al-Nassr teammates after winning the Saudi Pro League. A similar claim is found here (Archived).
DUBAWA decided to fact-check it due to its potential to mislead the public.
Verification
DUBAWA conducted a Google keyword search and found no evidence supporting the claim. We verified the claim on Cristiano Ronaldo’s social media accounts, like Facebook, Instagram, and X, but found no evidence of it.
We also verified it on the Saudi Pro League news, but found no evidence of the claim. We did not find any link or evidence supporting the claim on the official news website of Rolls-Royce cars. Further, the claim was not reported by any credible news agency.
DUBAWA also scrapped 100 posts from Football Mondial’s Facebook page using Console Apify and identified patterns of engagement farming, including fabricated quotes, unverified claims, emotional manipulation, and amplification of football rivalry sentiment to increase interaction. For example, there was a post that attributed a quote to Thierry Henry praising Cristiano Ronaldo, but it did not specify any source, journalist, or platform. There was another post in French attributed to Lionel Messi. The post had 7,339 likes, but there was no attribution.
Conclusion
Our thorough investigation showed that Cristiano Ronaldo has not gifted his teammates a Rolls-Royce after winning the Saudi Pro League. The claim, therefore, is false.
