Claim: A Facebook user, Jnb Son, alleged that President Joseph Boakai is constructing the Kollie-ta Wolah Elementary School Annexe in Bong County in fulfilment of his campaign promise.

Verdict: False! President Joseph Boakai is not building the Kollie-ta Wolah Elementary School Annexe. According to the Chairperson of the Bong County Council, the project is a US$75,000 County Social Development Fund (CSDF) initiative approved by the Bong County Council on April 7, 2025.

On Sunday, October 19, 2025, a social media user, Jnb Son, posted a video claiming that President Joseph Boakai was constructing the Kollie-ta Wolah School Annexe in Bong County as part of his campaign promise to the community’s residents.
Between 0:00 and 0:59 seconds of the video, he stated:
“When President Boakai promised the people of Kollie-ta Wolah in Bong County, he said, ‘I will give your school when you put me in power.’ So that is what he gave them. This is what President Boakai can do.”
The video has since sparked a wave of mixed reactions on social media. While many praised the President for the project, others questioned its authenticity.
Here are a few of the comments from the post:
Emmett Yarsiah Jr.: Why lie to the public?? This school isn’t or wasn’t built by Mr Boakai! never! Stop lying to Liberians out of Bong!
Hon J Howard Mattaldi Jr.: This is fake and misleading information.
Beleziah Elijah Sumo Jr.: You lied. This is the Bong County project, not your government project.
Enoch Kermue Darwolo Morris Sr.: Great work by the government here in our own Bong County.
Welee Peters: Thanks very much, Mr President, and thanks a million, Jnb son, for the update.

Verification
DUBAWA reached out to Jnb Son via Facebook Messenger to provide evidence supporting his claim. However, he did not respond to the inquiry.
We then contacted Aaron Sackie-Fenlah, Chairperson of the Bong County Council—the body mandated to approve all County Social Development Fund projects.
Mr Sackie-Fenlah refuted the claim, clarifying that the project was approved by the County Council under the CSDF programme, not by the President.
“The Kollie-ta Wolah Elementary School Annexe is part of several projects approved under the County Social Development Fund in Bong County. The County Administration submitted the project through the County Development Plan, developed in consultation with community members as required by the Local Government Act. We approved the project on April 7, 2025, during a public session attended by the media. The records are available. It’s misleading to say the President is constructing it.”
A review of media reports by our researcher also corroborated the County Council Chairperson’s statement.
A report published on April 7, 2025, by Radio Gbarnga’s official Facebook page confirms that the Bong County Council approved US$75,000 for the construction of the Kollie-ta Wolah Junior High School.
Similarly, a September 22, 2025, post on the official Facebook page of the county administration, Bong Information Desk, confirmed that the project is being implemented under the County Social Development Fund, not by the Office of the President.

Conclusion
The claim that President Joseph Boakai is building the Kollie-ta Wolah Elementary School Annexe in Bong County is false. Evidence shows the project is a US$75,000 County Social Development Fund initiative approved by the Bong County Council on April 7, 2025, and is being implemented by the County Administration, not the Presidency.
