A social media blog, Shine Liberia, alleged that employees at the National Port Authority have not received benefits for months. As of November 13, 2025, the post had 133 comments, 159 likes, and 16 shares.
Some of the commenters rubbished the post by the online blog as “lies and fake propaganda intended to target the NPA Boss.”

DUBAWA decided to conduct a fact-check on the claim as part of a campaign to promote truth in public discourse.
Verification
Our researcher contacted Shine Liberia to provide evidence to back the claim, but the blog refused to respond to the inquiries.
The researcher then contacted Jusu Kamara, the Director of Public Relations at the National Port Authority, who denied the allegation against the Port Management.
“The National Port Authority (NPA) under the leadership of Managing Director Hon. Sekou A.M. Dukuly is current on all employee benefits and social welfare obligations. Salaries, medical benefits, insurance coverage, and other entitlements are being regularly honoured in line with the Authority’s internal human resource policies and the Civil Service standards. Contrary to the misinformation being circulated, there has been no delay or backlog in staff benefits or welfare payments.”

The researcher also contacted the National Port Authority’s Human Resource Department through its Senior Director, Sylvester Wonplue, who stated that the claim is false.
“Lie. NPA is regular with her benefits. We just got benefits last month, and November benefits are currently in process,” he said.

Also, an employee at the National Port Authority, Johnnie Scientific Gbayelakpor, denied the claim.
“The information is fake. Benefits were given last week.”

Conclusion:
Based on the failure of the claimant to provide evidence to back the claim and responses from the Communications and Human Resource Departments of the National Port Authority, the claim made is false.
