A Facebook user, Mounir Keshen, claimed that Senator Darius Dillon obtained less than 2% of votes in his first time contesting for the Montserrado County senatorial seat. Mounir Keshen is a staunch supporter of the Alternative National Congress (ANC) Political leader, Alexander Cummings.
“Do you know Darius Dillion’s percentage when he contested the first time in Liberia? He had less than 2%.”
He made the claim exactly one hour during a live Facebook podcast on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.
His live podcast generated five likes, 13 comments and one share. Senator Dillion’s first appearance on the ballot was in 2009 on the ticket of the Liberty Party.

Our researcher first contacted the claimant for a reference to his claim, but he has yet to respond to the inquiries. The researcher also searched and reviewed results from the National Elections Commission’s website on the 2009 Montserrado County Senatorial By-Election.
The result shows that Senator Dillon obtained 5,418 votes, constituting 5.7% of the total votes.
