The altercation between the FCT minister, Nyesom Wike, and a naval officer over a parcel of land garnered wide attention last week, with opinions divided over who was at fault.
A Facebook user, Ezenkwa TV, shared a video on Nov. 11, 2025, showing a soldier inviting Wike to Sambisa Forest. As of Nov. 13, 2025, the video had gained over 203,000 reactions, 5,100 comments, and 13,000 reshares.
In the comment section, people hailed the intimidating call from the soldier, stating that it displayed the bravery of the military.
Anthony Emetu said, “Wike, the boys are waiting for you.”
Friday Sax encouraged the military official, while Ifeanyichukwu Francis said the clash might strengthen the military’s position to take over eventually. However, some Facebook users claimed that the video was created using Artificial Intelligence (AI), which is a cause for concern.
Chima Ajuzieogu said, “This one is not original.”
Akinmoladun Adebayo said, “AI will finish this generation.”
Ibrahim Rabiu said, “This AI is becoming something else.”
The disparity of thoughts in the comment section and the claim’s potential to worsen the relationship between the military and the current administration prompted DUBAWA to fact-check the claim.
Verification
We used the Google dorking technique but found no credible news report of such an incident in Nigeria. We also attempted to use tools to analyse the video’s authenticity, but the available tools did not yield reliable results. Deepware Scanner and AIorNot also claimed that the video is likely real.
When we used the Attestiv Deepfake detector, it yielded a 46% suspicion rating, and its analysis revealed a high presence of manipulations created with artificial intelligence.

Manual analyses revealed more detailed information. Despite the video’s sophistication, we observed that the audio, though synchronised, sounded too perfect and monotonous. It also lacked the subtle background noise of real-world recordings that could have been evident in such settings.
The speaker in the video also displayed unnatural facial expressions, and the camera coverage of the recording was unnaturally smooth, compared to usual footage from forests. The texts on the soldier’s chest also look altered and incoherent. Lastly, the unison in silence and echoes depicted in the background noise showed artificial manipulations. These are standard traits of videos generated with artificial intelligence.
Conclusion
No soldier in the Nigerian armed forces invited Nyesom Wike to Sambisa forest. Analysis revealed that the video was made with AI. Therefore, the claim is false.
