Claim: “Congratulations to my brother and friend, the Managing Director of LPRC, Amos Tweh, for the purchase of a new car,” said Isaac Doe, former Deputy Youth and Sports Minister.

Verdict: False. Amos Tweh denied the allegation, describing the claim as one from “Utopia.” The claimant, Isaac Doe, failed to provide evidence to substantiate his accusation. DUBAWA’s verification also revealed that the photographs of the car were taken from Osita Uzochukwu’s social media account on Thread.

Former Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Isaac Doe recently claimed that Amos Tweh, Managing Director of the Liberia Petroleum Refinery Company (LPRC), had purchased a new luxury car. Doe, a vocal critic of the Boakai administration, shared his congratulations publicly, stating, “Proud of you, bro.”
This claim adds to a series of allegations levelled against Tweh by some opposition figures, bloggers, and members of the public. Since assuming his role as Managing Director, Tweh has faced accusations ranging from purchasing a new house in Ghana to building condominiums with state resources for personal gain.
When Isaac Doe, a member of the opposition Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) and former deputy minister, made a similar claim on social media, DUBAWA initiated an investigation to verify the facts.
Verification
The car in question is identified as a Lexus LX600, a luxury SUV powered by a V6 twin-turbo engine. In response to the allegation, Amos Tweh dismissed the claim through a Facebook post, sarcastically stating: “Thanks to CDC for buying this car for me in Utopia.” He further challenged Isaac Doe, asking, “Where are the keys?”
Isaac Doe, however, failed to present any evidence to support his claim and instead responded cryptically in the comments section: “Pregnancy always comes in front!”
The car allegedly purchased a brand New Lexus LX600 VIP.
DUBAWA conducted a Google reverse image search on the photos shared by Doe. The search revealed that the image was originally posted on Thread by Osita Uzochukwu with the caption:
“Brand New Lexus LX600 VIP
Year: 2024 MODEL
Price: N350 MILLION
☎️08155122701
Location: Abuja.”
This finding confirms that the photo was unrelated to Amos Tweh or any purchase he made.
Conclusion
Based on the investigation, no evidence supports Isaac Doe’s claim that Amos Tweh purchased a new car. Therefore, the claim is false.
