Verdict: False. DUBAWA’s findings reveal that the seemingly rehabilitated transport facility is AI-generated. Moreover, there is no such place as “Terminal Bus Antar Kota” in Abia State.

Since Abia State governor, Alex Otti, was sworn into office on May 29, 2023, the Labour Party flagbearer has prioritised the construction of public facilities and the revamp of infrastructure, among other things.

Against this backdrop, an X user, @abdullahayofe1, (archived here), shared a video clip of a rehabilitated bus terminal and praised Governor Otti for revamping the facility.

The two-minute-twenty-eight-second clip showed a chronological timeline of how the once-deserted, dilapidated transport facility became a functioning, attractive bus terminal.

“Omo Alex Otti is really working ooo…Look at the new Abia bus terminal,” the X user wrote, commending Governor Otti.

As of Friday, Jan. 23, 2026, the post has attracted over 424,400 views, 211 comments, 800 retweets, 3,900 likes, and 547 bookmarks.

While some X users believed the post, others thought the facility was unreal.

“Will this man (Otti) be dragged once he decamps to APC?” ObrikoG asked.

“His good work has campaigned for him,” @Charles38346453 commented.

“AI and doings,” @OEmmanueltee wrote.

Following the contradictory responses in the comment section, and to set the record straight, DUBAWA decided to verify the claim.

Verification

We submitted keyframes from the video to Google Reverse Image Search. The result linked us to places (here, here, and here) where the clip had been shared previously, and none of them mentioned Abia State.

One of the links that appeared to be the clip’s origin labelled the video as containing  Artificial Intelligence (AI) media.

We submitted screenshots of the clip to Hive Moderation AI detection, and it flagged the material as containing high levels of AI.

Despite Zhuque AI Detection noting that it is not certain about the clip, it indicated that the video contains 56.15 per cent AI content.

DUBAWA also noticed AI features in the video clip, including inconsistencies in some images, faceless figures, and unmanned vehicles.

DUBAWA also checked for “Terminal Bus Antar Kota” in Abia State, but found nothing. We also contacted residents in the State, who told us the facility in the video clip does not exist in the State.

Further research indicates that Governor Otti recently inspected an ongoing construction of the Umuahia Central Bus Terminal, which has a different structure from the facility shared by the claimant.

Conclusion

The bus terminal shared by the X claimant was created using AI and does not exist in Abia State. Therefore, the claim is false.
