Patriotic Entrepreneurs of Liberia Chairman, Dominic Nimely claimed that Liberia does not have DNA machines which forces citizens to travel outside the country for medical attention.
Dominic Nimely made the claim during a live radio program on Kear Radio 95.9 on April 17, 2026. The claim was made in 2:45 minutes of the live program.

DUBAWA decided to conduct a fact-check of the claim as part of its mandate to counter misinformation and disinformation, and to promote truth-telling in public discourse.
Verification:
Our researcher communicated with Pathologist Dr. Zoebon Kparteh who works at the country’s biggest referral hospital, John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Kparteh denied the claim.
“We have more than three DNA machines housed at JFK.” he told DUBAWA in an interview.
In August 2020, former President George Weah mandated the Ministry of Finance to procure two DNA machines.
“To further demonstrate my commitment to the fight against rape, I am mandating the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning to procure two DNA machines in addition to ones bought by our international partners to hasten the prosecution and trial of rape cases in the country.”
A year later, he announced the arrival of the two DNA machines in Liberia.
“Today, I am happy to announce that a DNA testing machine is now in Liberia. This is a great step forward in bringing relief and justice to survivors of sexual and gender based violence, as well as to the alleged perpetrators.”
Conclusion:
Based on the response and evidence from Liberia’s Pathologist, Dr. Zoebon Kparteh and reports from the Executive Mansion Website showing the procurement of DNA machines by the Weah’s administration, the claim made by Dominic Nimely is false.
