Claim: United States Presidential candidate, Kamala Harris, wore the Nova H1 audio earrings to the recently held presidential debate where she was fed what to say.

Verdict: Misleading! What Ms. Harris wore is similar to Tiffany Hardwear Pearl Earrings, not the NOVA H1 audio earrings though they both have pearls.

In the build-up to the Nov. 5 elections in the United States, the former president, Donald Trump, and vice-president, Kamala Harris, faced off in a presidential debate on Sep. 10, 2024.
The debate, moderated by ABC News, took place in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Both candidates used the debate to outline their visions for the country, emphasising key policies they would prioritise if elected president.
The debate has been surrounded by controversial claims on social media, with many pushing several narratives about what transpired at the venue.
One such claim is that Ms Harris wore Nova H1 audio earrings during the debate, which allegedly contributed to her coherent speech and logical reasoning in her presentation.
The claim was widely shared on X by other users as seen here, here, and here.
But did Ms. Harris wear the Nova H1 audio earrings for the US presidential debate as claimed? Because of the sensitivity of the issue and the potential implications for her candidacy, DUBAWA decided to fact-check the claim.
Verification
The Nova H1 audio earring is a clip-on or stud pearl design that doubles as wireless earphones. The speakers, located behind the pearls, use directional sound technology to transmit audio directly into the ears of the wearer.
Nova says it uses “multiple acoustical volumes inside the pearl and a funnel geometry towards the pearl opening, to direct sound towards the ear. As the sound propagates from the pearl directly into your ear, it does not leak outwards in different directions.”
It comes in both gold and silver as seen on the company’s Instagram page here.

Meanwhile, a closer look shows there are some differences between the pair Ms Harris donned and the Nova H1 audio earring she was alleged to have worn.
The earring Ms Harris wore had this pair that prominently featured a large beautiful white pearl atop two bars of iron bent slightly inwards towards the bottom. It was later identified as the Tiffany HardWear South Sea Pearl Earrings.
The silver version of the earrings can be seen here.
While the Nova H1 audio earring has a beautiful white pearl on top of the earring, the iron bar is thick.
Presidential candidate Ms Harris has long been known for her distinctive style and love of pearl jewelry, a preference that dates back to her 1986 graduation from Howard University.
Also, she had been seen wearing similar pairs of earrings on different occasions as seen here, here and here.
Conclusion
The claim that Ms Harris wore the Nova H1 audio earrings during the recent US presidential debate is misleading.
