On Feb. 1, 2025, a Facebook page called Atete Entertainment tv1 claimed that Innocent Idibia, aka 2Baba, and his wife, Annie Idibia (née Macaulay), had reconciled through Senator Ned Nwoko’s intervention.
The post reads, “Congratulations to 2Baba and Annie as Ned Regina’s Daniel husband reunited both together.”
The post includes a picture of 2Baba, Anie, Regina Daniel, and her husband, Ned Nwoko, together.
As of Feb. 19, 2025, the post has garnered over 7,000 likes and 630 comments. While some users questioned the claim’s authenticity, others congratulated the couple on their alleged reconciliation.
DUBAWA chose to fact-check the claim because it has gained attention, with some individuals believing it to be true.
Verification
DUBAWA’s findings reveal that on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2025, 2Baba made a terse social media post announcing that he and Annie had parted ways.
He wrote, “Hello to my beautiful people of all federations. Well, this thing I have to say is short but also long… Annie Macaulay and I have been separated for a while before filing for divorce recently. I will grant a press release soon to share my story—not because it is anyone’s right to know about my personal life, but because I love my people, and I need them to know my innocence or offence. Stay blessed, my people. I love you all.”
Less than two weeks after announcing the divorce, he proposed to Edo lawmaker Natasha Osawaru. In a viral video, he said, “Allegedly, I have been seeing so many things, so many people coming up with their false narratives and malicious nonsense after I posted that stuff that I posted. Yes, I posted what I posted.”
“Hon. Natasha has been dragged, she has been called all sorts of names, she has been labelled a home breaker. She is a young, brilliant, amazing woman, who had nothing to do with what was happening between me and Annie in our marriage. Yes, I love her. She is amazing, she is cool, and I want to marry her,” he continued.
DUBAWA’s findings reveal that 2Baba’s mother has publicly pleaded for Natasha to leave her son alone. However, no official announcement has confirmed a reconciliation between 2Baba and Annie. Therefore, the claim that Ned Nwoko reunited the couple remains false.
DUBAWA conducted a Google Reserve Image Search of the picture attached to the post. We realised that the image had been on the internet for about four months and was posted here.
DUBAWA also examined the Instagram pages of 2Baba and Annie. Unlike before, when updates about their relationship were shared, we found no recent posts on the matter.
Conclusion
The claim that Ned Nwoko has settled the dispute between 2baba and his wife, Annie, is misleading.
