False! Boakai didn’t launch fund for children born from 2025 to 2028

Claim: Stress Free blog posted on its Facebook page that President Joseph Boakai launched a financial programme for kids born between 2025 and 2028. According to the claim, each child born during that period will receive $1,000 in contributions from the Liberian Treasury. 

Verdict: False! President Boakai’s Presidential Press Secretary, Kula Fofana, refuted the claim. Also, there is no information about the programme’s launch on any credible media outlets.

A Liberian blog (Stress Free blog) recently took to Facebook, claiming that Liberian President Joseph Boakai has launched a financial aid programme to strengthen the children’s foundation and their future development. 

The blog stated that children born between 2025 and 2028 are expected to receive a $1,000 cash prize as a contribution to their foundation and development. According to the post, the initiative is titled “Boakai Account,” aimed at providing financial stability to children.

The post generated 1.6k reactions, 681 comments, and 297 shares on February 6, 2026. The claim was reposted by other blogs here and here. 

In the comments, viewers debated the post’s authenticity, while others believed the poster’s claim.

The mixed reactions prompted DUBAWA to initiate a fact-check. 

Verification 

To verify, DUBAWA contacted the claimant via messenger to provide evidence to the claim.

The review shows that the message was seen by the Stress Free blog, but it didn’t provide a reply as of this publication date. 

DUBAWA conducted research on credible media websites in Liberia but didn’t find any evidence supporting the claim. Additionally, the researcher contacted President Joseph Boakai’s Press Secretary to verify the claim. In response, Kula Fofana told DUBAWA the information is not true.

Conclusion 

Based on evidence gathered, the President didn’t launch a financial programme for kids born between 2025 and 2028. Therefore, the claim is false.
