A Facebook user, Sakou Kalasco Damaro, alleged in a post that Executive Protection Service Director Sam Gaye has been dismissed.
Following the post by Sakou Kalasco Damaro, several online blogs, including Shine Liberia and News Africa, also claimed that the EPS Director has been dismissed.
At the time of this writing, the post by Sakou Kalasco Damaro accumulated 1,200 comments, 1,2000 likes, and 44 shares.
DUBAWA, the fact-checking arm of the Centre for Journalism Innovation and Development (CJID), decided to verify the claim as part of a mandate to promote truth in public discourse.
Verification
Our researcher first contacted the claimant, Sakou Kalasco Damaro, to provide evidence to back his claim, but he refused to respond to the many inquiries.
The researcher searched the Executive Mansion’s official page and found no publication about the EPS Director’s dismissal.
The researcher also contacted the Presidential Press Secretary, Kula V. Fofana, who denied the claim.

Kula V. Fofana also posted on her Facebook page, dismissing the social media allegation.
“EPS Director Gaye has neither been dismissed nor suspended, contrary to circulating rumours. The claims on social media are entirely false and should be ignored as fake news.”
Conclusion
Based on the response from Presidential Press Secretary Kula Fofana, the official spokesperson of the Executive Mansion, claims by Kalasco and other social media users are false.
