Claim: A Popular Sierra Leonean blog, Aruna Pepe Blog 3, alleged that Davido was awarded the Grammy during the 68th Grammy Award ceremony.
Verdict: False! Our investigation showed that South African singer Tyla won the Grammy, not Davido.
Full Text
For Davido, the Nigerian Afrobeats titan, whose career has been defined by “Timeless” hits and a relentless work ethic, the Grammy continues to slip through his fingers despite the nominations over the years.
Last year, Davido’s hopes rested on the sleek, R&B-infused Afrobeats anthem “Sensational.” A collaboration with American superstar Chris Brown and fellow Nigerian breakout Lojay, the track was a masterclass in cross-continental appeal. But at the 67th Grammy Ceremony, Davido returned to Nigeria without the Grammy.
This year, he was nominated in the Best African Performance Category alongside his contemporaries: Ayra Starr, Tyla, Burna Boy, and Wizkid.
However, a popular Sierra Leonean blog, Aruna Pepe Blog 3, reported that Davido won a Grammy at the 68th Grammy Awards last week.
The caption reads: “Davido Wins Best African Performance Category at the Grammy.”

Verification
DUBAWA conducted a Google keyword search and found no evidence supporting the claim. The claim was not reported by any credible media house.
Evidence from the Grammys and Forbes shows that Davido did not win a Grammy for his nomination; instead, Tyla, a South African singer, won the award at the 68th Grammy Ceremony for the second time since her debut album “Water.”
Conclusion
DUBAWA’s investigation shows that Davido did not win a Grammy this year; instead, Tyla won for her song “Push 2 Start.”
