Claim: An X user shared images of vandalised APC campaign billboards and claimed party supporters were responsible because of unpaid allowances.

Verdict: False! No report shows such vandalism, and the images are AI-generated.
Full Text
On Saturday, Oct. 24, 2026, the All Progressives Congress (APC) held a massive campaign at the Ranchers Bees Stadium in Kaduna State ahead of the 2027 election.
Afterwards, an X user, @NuhuSada0, shared images of vandalised APC campaign billboards and claimed that party supporters in Kaduna State were responsible because of unpaid allowances.
The post (archived here) was captioned, “Breaking news: billboards removed, gate smashed. APC supporters in Kaduna allegedly vent their anger over unpaid allowances.”
As of Monday, Oct. 26, 2026, the video has accumulated over 496,900 views, 4,300 likes, 1,300 reposts, 268 comments, and 184 bookmarks.
Most comments questioned the post’s veracity, while a few other supporters were convinced.
One user, @Olomu_Aperan, wrote, You people’s propaganda and editing end on social media; una eye go peel as Tinubu coasts to massive victory.
Another X user, @Chibuzo_Mikel, commented, “We warned ahead of time, yet they still went ahead with their propaganda.”
In support, @Ismaill3360 asserted, “God go disgrace Tinubu, Shetima and all the rented crowd”
@Honeeybuch also wrote, “This is enough for them to know people don’t like them.”
Given the conflicting reactions, DUBAWA decided to verify the claim so this alleged development would not mislead the polity.
Verification
DUBAWA conducted Google reverse image searches, but found no related information. Instead, we came across the same claim shared on X (here and here) and Facebook (here and here).
We manually analysed the images and found many inconsistencies, including misspellings, incorrect designations, and inconsistencies that suggest the image has been altered.
For instance, the name of the coordinator of the Unified Allied Group in Kaduna State, “Bashir Suleiman Zuntu,” written at the end of the billboard, was wrongly spelt as “Basmir Sulieman Zuntu.”
Another misspelt word on the billboard is the part under Uba Sanni that reads, ‘Covernor’ instead of ‘Governor’.
DUBAWA also observed that some words on the billboard are blurry and unclear, which calls into question the image’s authenticity.

Furthermore, DUBAWA compared both images and noticed that the environment did not change. The before-and-after images show the same people in the same positions, suggesting either the event did not happen or it is the same image with altered content.

We subjected both images to AI verification tools. Hive Detect’s analysis of the image with the ‘after’ tag shows a high percentage of AI-generated visuals, while the one with a ‘before’ tag shows a lower percentage.

Meanwhile, another AI verification tool, Fake Image Detector, shows that the image with the ‘before’ tag has 50% AI-generated content.

We ran a keyword search to see whether any credible media outlets recently reported on a protest in Kaduna over unpaid allowance. Results show that the most recent protest held in Kaduna was on Oct. 16, 2026, when Kaduna refinery workers blocked the gate of the Kaduna Refining and Petrochemical Company (KRPC) for four days over unpaid salaries.
Advocate Broadcasting Network Television (ADBN) TV, Refinery Intelligence, and New Telegraph also reported the development.
Conclusion
Our findings show that APC supporters in Kaduna State did not protest over unpaid wages or destroy APC campaign billboards. The images used are AI-generated. The claim is, therefore, false.
