Claim: An Instagram post by Sportidioset, published on August 5, claims that Kevin De Bruyne has completed a move to Inter Miami, earning $7 million per season on a contract running until 2028, citing Antonio Conte as its source.
Verdict: The claim is false. Fabrizio Romano directly rejected reports linking Kevin De Bruyne to Inter Miami, stating that the club was not in negotiations with him. No official announcement has confirmed the alleged transfer, salary, or 2028 contract.

The claim gained attention online after Sportidioset published an image showing De Bruyne in an Inter Miami shirt with the words “HERE WE GO,” suggesting that the Belgian midfielder had completed a transfer from Napoli to the MLS club.
The post further claimed that De Bruyne would earn $7 million per season and had agreed to a contract running until 2028. It attributed the information to Italian football manager Antonio Conte.
The claim gained significant attention online, attracting over 42,200 likes, 210 comments, and 410 reshares.
Because the claim concerns a high-profile football transfer, DUBAWA decided to fact-check it.
Verification
DUBAWA’s verification found that Fabrizio Romano had already addressed the Inter Miami rumours. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Romano stated: “Inter Miami are not negotiating for Kevin De Bruyne despite reports.”
He also said the same regarding Juan Fernando Quintero. Therefore, the claim of a completed deal contradicts the latest information from one of football’s most prominent transfer journalists.
DUBAWA also checked SSC Napoli’s official Website and X (formerly Twitter) Account. Napoli’s website still lists De Bruyne as a club player, and its recent match report shows him playing and scoring twice for Napoli against Aris Thessaloniki in a 6–2 pre-season victory. The available evidence therefore does not support the claim that De Bruyne has left Napoli for Inter Miami.
DUBAWA found no public statement from Antonio Conte, De Bruyne’s manager at Napoli, supporting the claim that he provided this information. Conte has made no comment linking De Bruyne to a transfer, and his position as Napoli’s manager, at a club that continues to list De Bruyne on its active roster, makes him an unlikely source to confirm a rival club’s transfer.
DUBAWA also found no corresponding official announcement from Inter Miami CF confirming De Bruyne’s signing. Likewise, no evidence was found from De Bruyne’s official social media account confirming that he had joined the MLS club. In fact, his X (formerly Twitter) account still lists Napoli in his Account handle, as the club he is currently playing for.
Conclusion
The claim is false. Fabrizio Romano directly rejected reports linking Kevin De Bruyne to Inter Miami, stating that the club was not in negotiations with him. No official announcement has confirmed the alleged transfer, and the specific salary figure ($7 million) and 2028 contract length cited in the post could not be independently verified by any credible source.
