A Facebook post circulating on social media has announced the death of Sierra Leonean football player Musa Kamara, widely known as Musa Tombo.
The post, shared by the Facebook page APC Reds Zones Bloggs, reads, “Yes, it has now been confirmed. Popular Sierra Leonean football star Musa Tombo has reportedly passed away. A painful loss for Sierra Leonean football and his many fans. May his soul rest in perfect peace.”
Musa Tombo is a Sierra Leonean professional footballer who plays as a striker and was born in Tombo, Sierra Leone. He rose to prominence with East End Lions, winning the Sierra Leone Premier League Golden Boot in 2019 after scoring 15 goals.

DUBAWA first contacted sports journalist Mamadu Sallieu Barrie via a WhatsApp call to verify the claim. Mamadu told DUBAWA that Musa Tombo is alive and the circulating claim is false.
