False! No “fake centre” at PLP Headquarters

A “fake centre” has been created at the PLP Headquarters opposite YWCA in Congo Town where secret voting, vote buying, card scanning, and logging of serial numbers is ongoing– Martin K. N. Kollie said on Facebook.

Verdict: False

Findings

The West Africa Network for Peacebuilding (WANEP) told DUBAWA that none of the three observers they contacted on the field had heard of the incident. However, they reported that a man was arrested at Wells-Hairston High School on VP Road because his name appeared twice on the final roll.

Also, DUBAWA visited both the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) and the People Liberation Party (PLP) headquarters to ascertain the claims made. What was observed at both parties’ headquarters was a crowd, many of whom were motorcyclists.

Their spokesman Jacob Dweh told DUBAWA that they had gone on the order of both parties for what they called “transport rides” for taking parties’ observers to visit the various polling centres within central Monrovia.
