Claim: A Facebook post by Born 2 Blog alleged that the New England Ville community in Freetown had decided to build a giant portrait of one of its stakeholders. The post was accompanied by an image showing a massive human figure under construction, with workers climbing scaffolds around it.

Verdict: False! The image is not from New England Ville in Freetown. In fact, New England Ville has no clock tower, and the only clock tower in Freetown is located at the Eastern Police roundabout. Since such a structure does not exist in New England Ville, or anywhere in Freetown, the claim is fabricated.
Full Text
A viral image circulating on Facebook claims that a huge statue is being erected in New England Ville, Freetown, as a tribute to a community stakeholder. The post attracted hundreds of engagements, with users expressing surprise at what was described as a “hugeeeeee” community project, while others were sceptical about the existence of such a project.
However, a closer look at the photo reveals inconsistencies. The background shows a clock tower which does not exist in New England Ville. In fact, Freetown has only one clock tower, and it is located at the Eastern Police roundabout, not New England Ville. This alone indicates that the image is either digitally manipulated or falsely captioned.
Why DUBAWA Fact-Checked This
False claims about community projects can mislead residents and spread confusion. Associating fabricated or manipulated images with specific neighbourhoods damages trust and can even divert attention from genuine community initiatives.
Verification
Firstly, DUBAWA conducted a Google keyword search and found that no credible news agency reported the claim.

There is no evidence of such a statue project in New England Ville or elsewhere in the city.
