Claim: A Facebook user shared an image claiming it was captured at an APC campaign rally in Kaduna State.

Verdict: False! The image was digitally fabricated.
Full Text
Ahead of the 2027 election, the All Progressives Congress (APC) flagged off its presidential campaign for President Bola Tinubu’s second term in October 2026.
Against this backdrop, a Facebook user, Mr Chini, on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2026, shared an image (archived here) showing a large crowd with APC flags, alleging it is from the party’s Kaduna campaign.
“Over 1 million Nigerians are in Kaduna for the APC Presidential Campaign Flag-off,” the post caption reads.
As of Thursday, Oct. 29, 2026, the post has accumulated over 173 likes, 89 comments and nine reposts.
While some Facebook users think the image is real, others have questioned its authenticity.
Mainasara Nguroje wrote, “While our primary school children are in the forest den of kidnappers, what unconscious leaders.”
Another user, Bakari M, commented, “The remaining two or three million are waiting for ADC.”
Meanwhile, Amos Precious wrote, “That’s my Problem with all these APC guys. They lie too much.”

DUBAWA verified the image to set the record straight and prevent false narratives ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Verification
DUBAWA checked APC’s official X and Facebook accounts but could not find the image or anything similar.
We manually reviewed the image and found several digital inconsistencies. First, DUBAWA observed that the flags were superimposed on the crowd, and no one was actually holding them. We also noticed that the people in the image have no distinct outfits; all their clothes appear similar and digitally monochromatic.
We also ran the image through Artificial Intelligence (AI) image detector tools.
Results from ZeroGPT and Fake Image Detector show a high probability that the image is synthetic.

Furthermore, we subjected the image to the SynthID Detector, which revealed a watermark indicating that OpenAI generated or edited the image.

Conclusion
DUBAWA’s findings show that the image is AI-generated. Therefore, the claim is false.
