CLAIM: The governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party in Delta State, Kenneth Gbagi, said over 43.4% of the youths are out of jobs.
FINDING: The latest data from the National Bureau of Statistics released in the fourth quarter of 2020 shows that the unemployment rate in Delta State stood at 31.4% while the underemployment rate was 24.01%. The NBS statistics, however, do not have disaggregated data on youth unemployment by state.
