Guinea created a border crisis with Liberia on March 2, 2026, after its soldiers entered the Sorlumba Port of Entry in Lofa and hoisted its flag on Liberian soil. Though the matter was resolved through a Communique’ among Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Guinea on the 16th of March, there are reports that Guinea Soldiers Are still occupying Liberia’s territory.
However, Verity News, an online media platform, reported on March 22, 2026, that the Soldiers, in their operation to claim land in Liberia, have further encroached on Kandadu (another village in Lofa). In Verity’s report, residents of the community are being stopped by Guinea’s Soldiers from having access to the area.
The report said “Guinean soldiers have reportedly occupied land near Kondadu, a town in Lofa. Liberian residents in that area are no longer allowed there. Chiefs and elders from surrounding communities are now in a meeting on the matter. We will upload the video.”
It was further reported here, here, and here.

The report caused panic in the community. It accumulated 595 reactions, 454 comments, and 103 shares at the time of this writing. In the comments, some viewers disagreed with the information, while others agreed. The mixed opinions led DUBAWA to conduct a verification.

Verification
To verify this report, DUBAWA contacted the Police Commander of Lofa, Mr Clement Ballah. Mr Ballah told us that community dwellers are going about their normal business, there is peace in Kondadu, and Guinea Soldiers are stationed at the border.
“Things are peaceful here, our people are going on their farms and doing their normal activities. No one has been stopped from going to places,” Commander Ballah said.
Additionally, Super Bongese Reporter Exodus T Weah visited the scene in Lofa on March 23, 2026. Speaking with DUBAWA via phone, Exodus said Guinea’s soldiers were stationed in a bush at a distance from Kondadu, where they hoisted their flag. According to Exodus, he was informed that the Guineans had planted their flag in that part of Lofa on March 10, 2026, during a tense period of the crisis between Liberia and Guinea.
The journalist also confirmed that during his visit, residents were seen going about their normal businesses.
Conclusion
From our findings, the movements of residents of Kondadu are not being infringed as claimed by Verity, so the report is misleading.
