On Aug. 30, 2026, a Facebook user, Black and White, posted a video (archived link here) showing a large crowd, claiming there was a total lockdown in Delta State as Peter Obi’s followers came out to support him.
The poster wrote, “Total lockdown in Delta State (Agbor) as Obi supporters came out in mass to show solidarity for Peter Obi. This election is going to be very interesting between Peter Obi, Atiku Abubakar, and President Bola Tinubu. Watch Delta State.”
The video has over 99,000 views as of Sept. 4, 2026, with over 256 comments, 938 shares and 3,900 likes.
The comments were mixed, with some users praising the crowd and expressing support for Obi, while others urged supporters to focus on securing votes ahead of the 2027 elections. One commenter questioned the video’s authenticity, noting that it appeared to be from 2023.
Some of the comments reads: Ben Onwuanibe said,
“I doff my cap for Agbor people. May your efforts be crowned with success.” Kenneth Okjazz said, “See, let’s forget about this crowd thing. Let’s focus more on securing the votes.” Ojobo Chibueze said, “We must be at our polling units to make it a reality come 2027.” Pst Okezie James Atañi said, “With a 2023 video?”

DUBAWA decided to fact-check the claim because it is campaign season ahead of the 2027 general elections in Nigeria, and several political claims and misleading content are bound to circulate online.
Verification
DUBAWA conducted a reverse image search of screenshots from the video and traced it to October 2022.
The video was posted by a Facebook page named Vanlotte Media with the caption, “1MillionMarch4PeterObi in Agbor, Delta State (Okowa’s hometown) currently ongoing.”
DUBAWA searched the hashtag and discovered several posts about the march in Delta and some other states across Nigeria. We found a video from the event streamed live on YouTube on Oct. 8, 2022. The landscape matches what is shown in the video shared by the Facebook user.
Conclusion
DUBAWA’s findings reveal that the video is old and was recorded in 2022, not during the current 2027 election campaign.
