Claim: A Facebook user, Arc Ogar Anthony, claims Davido said he will involve Trump if the APC rigs the Osun State election.

Verdict: Misleading. While Nigerian singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, did say he would involve United States President Donald Trump if the Osun State governorship election is rigged, he did not attribute the alleged rigging to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

One of the key contestants in the Aug. 15 Osun State governorship election is the incumbent governor, Ademola Adeleke, who is David Adeleke’s (Davido’s) uncle.
Hence, Davido has been actively involved in campaigning for his uncle ahead of the election.
A Facebook user, Arc Ogar Anthony, on Aug. 7, 2026, made a claim that Davido said he would involve United States President Donald Trump if the All Progressives Congress (APC) rigs the Osun State governorship election.
The caption of the post (archived link here) reads, “Davido to involve Donald Trump if APC rig Osun state election. Na this Osun state go expose APC grabbing, destroying of our democracy.”
As of Aug. 10, 2026, the post had attracted 702 likes, 29 comments and 57 shares.
Theresa Eziashi, reacting to the claim, wrote, “Davido, I love your energy and love shown to your uncle, the governor of Osun State; let APC members know that man pass man.”
Another user, Collins Ehis, commented, “Everything is temporary, life changes; people come and go and seasons never last.”
Obadiah Bature also wrote, “TINUBU no want hear Trump name, the name the sound like thunder for him hear.”
Other Facebook users also reshared the post here, here, and here.
With the election coming up in a few days and the numerous pieces of content around it, DUBAWA decided to investigate the claim.
Verification
DUBAWA found a video on Instagram where Davido made the statement referenced in the claim. In the video, Davido spoke about the need for a free and fair election and expressed concern about a lack of transparency in Nigeria’s electoral process.
He said in Pidgin English, “…free and fair election, say make everybody for Nigeria vote. I go win, but because of the system, there’s no transparency; dem dey write results. I wan see wetin dem wan come do for Osun, na I dey wait. I go tag Trump, I will go in front of White House, make dem help us.”
The statement shows that Davido threatened to seek Trump’s intervention if he believed the election was not free and fair. However, he did not mention the APC or any other party.
DUBAWA also found that Davido’s comments were reported by Arise TV, further confirming that he spoke about seeking international attention if the electoral process is compromised.
On Aug. 11, 2026, Davido tagged United States President Donald Trump in a post on his X handle titled “A Call for Attention to President Donald Trump,” urging him to intervene in the ongoing Osun State governorship election. Even in this post, he did not mention the APC.
Conclusion
The claim that Davido said he would involve Donald Trump if the APC rigged the Osun State governorship election is misleading. Although Davido did say he would tag Trump and go to the White House if the Osun election was rigged, he did not specifically accuse the APC of planning to rig the election.
