Claim: A TikTok user shared a video clip showing Mbappe slamming his teammates after drawing with Al Hilal in the CWC.

Verdict: False. The video clip was digitally manipulated. The original video shows Mbappe assessing his team’s performance in a post-match interview after France’s 2-0 win against Germany in the UEFA Nations League.

Real Madrid were held to a 1-1 draw against Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal in the ongoing Club World Cup (CWC). Coach Xabi Alonso was denied a debut win despite Gonzalo Garcia’s 34-minute goal lead when Portuguese international Ruben Neves equalised from the spot before half-time.
The 15-time European champions could have grabbed a late-minute winner when the referee awarded a penalty in favour of Real Madrid. They found Mohammed Al Qahtani had grabbed Fran Garcia in the face at stoppage time. However, Federico Valverde saw his efforts parried by Yassine Bounou.
Kylian Mbappe was sidelined after the Frenchman reportedly suffered from a fever-induced condition. Mail Online has reported that the 26-year-old has been admitted to the hospital for a series of tests after he was diagnosed with an acute case of gastroenteritis.
Meanwhile, a TikTok user, @thedangerousai, shared a video clip showing Mbappe lambasting his teammates, including Brazilian duo Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes, and recent signee, Trent Alexander-Arnold, for performing rather poorly at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.
“We just got clowned by Al Kebab there. What a circus. Vini Jr and Rodrygo, absolute trash again. Vino is back to crying every time he is breathed on and flopping like a fish learning how to swim for the first time. And Rodygo is losing the ball like it’s his full-time job. Trent Alexander-Arnold defends like he is dodging traffic blindfolded,” Mbappe allegedly said.
As of Friday, June 20, 2025, the post had garnered 23,200 likes, 191 comments, 2,202 bookmarks, and 6,936 shares.
“Barca fans would say this is AI,” Josuebizi commented.
“Bro needs to recover from the flu, else we would be eliminated,” futurehndrxx9 wrote.
DUBAWA decided to verify the claim due to the sensitivity of the striker’s utterance.
Verification
We subjected the video clip’s keyframes to Google Reverse Image Search, which linked us with some YouTube channels here and here. Mbappe, who appears to be wearing a grey sweatshirt and black baseball hat, similar to the outfit in the TikTok video, spoke about France’s post-match Nations League performance and his prospects of winning a Ballon d’Or.
“I do believe that we managed to create opportunities, put pressure on the opposing side, press high, and annoy Spain and Germany. Then we managed to play well in both matches, with an average of three goals per match, and six goals in both matches,” Mbappe told the press.
In response to possibly winning the Ballon d’Or award, the French international said, “I have opinions, and I would have had different opinions on the last award recipients. There are votes. I think there are 100 journalists who vote on this trophy. The only one I can impact is on my feet and on the pitch. If I win it, fine. If I don’t, it doesn’t really matter.”
We subjected the video clip to Sensity.ai, an AI-detection tool, which flagged the file as “suspicious.” It remarked that the file ” exhibits AI-generated elements, with detection of potential lip sync in visual features and voice synthesis in audio features.”
We further checked if any credible news outlet had reported the striker’s utterances, but found none.
Conclusion
The claim that Mbappe criticised his teammates after drawing with Al Hilal in the CWC is false.
