Claim: An X user shared a video claiming that Davido linked up with Kai Cenat, who is currently in Nigeria.
Verdict: Misleading. Davido did not link up with Kai Cenat following the latter’s second visit to Nigeria. The video was filmed in 2024 during his first trip and is not recent.

On Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2026, popular American Twitch streamer and internet personality Kai Cenat arrived in Lagos, Nigeria. This is his second visit to the country, following his first in 2024.
His visit to Lagos State aimed to oversee projects and initiatives he plans to implement to support children and young people in the state.
Amidst all this, on Feb. 4, 2026, an X user @DamiForeign shared a video (archived here) of David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, hanging out with Cenat and stated that it is a recent link-up.
The 10-second video was captioned, “Davido no dey waste time, e don link up with Kai Cenat.”
A similar video was also shared on Facebook.
Meanwhile, the video attracted over 333,100 views, 12,000 likes, 823 comments, 678 reports, and 248 bookmarks as of Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2025.
Going through the comment section, we observed that many users affirm the video’s authenticity, while a few others asked Grok to verify it.
“Only Davido would link up with Kai Cenat the moment he lands in Nigeria. This man is down to earth, moves fast, and is actually boosting Nigeria’s image and economy,” @Classic_Wife wrote.
Another comment by @Dukeofowerri reads, “As Tyler collects his Grammy, he rushes to make Peller not collect this one too.”
“@grok, Is this today?” @KelvinKori6078 asked.
The massive engagement generated by the post and Cenat’s recent visit to Nigeria prompted DUBAWA to conduct a fact-check.
Verification
DUBAWA took screenshots of the claimant’s video and analysed them using Google’s Reverse Image search. The results led us to similar videos shared on X (here and here) and on Facebook (here and here ) in March 2024.
Further searches led us to additional TikTok videos uploaded in 2024, as seen here and here.
DUBAWA then conducted a keyword search for Cenat meeting Davido in 2024, which led us to a Vanguard report published on March 12, 2024. The report detailed that the duo met in Lagos State, and Davido boasted about his wife, Chioma Adeleke’s, cooking skills during his link-up with the American streamer.
Another outlet, Intel Region, reported that Davido linked up with Cenat in 2024.

Conclusion
DUBAWA’s research indicates that the video dates back to Cenat’s first visit to Nigeria in 2024. It is unrelated to his recent trip to Lagos State, so the claim is misleading.
