In 2024, award-winning Afrobeat singer Davido Adeleke officially married Chioma Avril Rowland in grand style, inviting prominent celebrities like Rude Boy, Patoranking, Chike, etc.
However, one of Nigeria’s music stars, Ibrahim Balogun, known by his stage name Wizkid, was not at Davido’s wedding.
Wizkid’s absence at Davido’s traditional wedding in Nigeria sparked the duo’s existing fan-inspired rivalry. Their fans have primarily fueled their rivalry due to their music styles and lifestyles.
In 2015, both music stars performed on the same stage, hugging each other and promoting unity.
But that moment of unity was short-lived, as the stars have yet to do a song together.
On Sunday, Davido and Chioma tied the knot again at their $3.7 million white wedding in Miami, United States, as reported by Guardian Nigerian News.
TimesLIVE reported that Davido gifted his wife a $300,000 watch during their wedding reception on Sunday.
However, on August 10, 2025, a Facebook page, Lift3rd, posted a photo of Wizkid gifting Davido a red-ribboned black car during his wedding.
The caption on the photo reads: “Wizkid gifts Davido a new car on his White wedding.”
Hours after the claim was made, it has garnered 95.6k likes, 4.1k comments, and 651 shares.
The post induced mixed reactions among social media users. While some believed the claim to be accurate, others did not.
