Claim: A Facebook user, Funny Belinda, posted photos of Burna Boy and VeryDarkMan donating several items to an orphanage.

Verdict: False! DUBAWA’s investigation found that the images were generated by AI. Also, the claim is not supported by any credible media house.
Full Text
Tensions initially began in late 2024 and mid-2025 when VeryDarkMan, known for his relentless critiques of Nigerian elites, took aim at the “Big Three” (Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Davido).
VDM had criticised Burna Boy for spending billions on luxury cars while many Nigerians struggled with poverty. He famously labelled several A-list celebrities as “disconnected” from the masses.
Unlike other celebrities who engaged in messy social media wars, Burna Boy’s “Odogwu” persona mostly ignored the noise until VDM’s activism began to yield tangible results. VDM eventually shifted his tone, praising Burna Boy’s international dominance while still holding him accountable for domestic issues.
However, a Facebook user, Funny Belinda, shared viral photos of Burna Boy and VeryDarkMan donating to an orphanage. A similar claim is found here and here. DUBAWA decided to fact-check the claim due to its potential to mislead the public.
Verification
Firstly, we conducted a Google keyword search and found that the claim was neither reported by VeryDarkMan nor by any credible media news agency.
Secondly, we found that on December 26, 2025, Burna Boy gave $100,000 to VeryDarkMan for the release of prisoners who couldn’t afford payments, but not specifically to an orphanage.
Thirdly, we subjected the photos to two AI image detectors and found that the images shared by Funny Belinda are AI-generated.

Conclusion
While it’s true that Burna Boy gave VeryDarkMan $100,000 last year, it’s not true that they’ve recently donated to an orphanage. The viral photos shared by Funny Belinda are AI-generated.
