The Pakistan-Indian conflict ensued on the 7th May, 2025, after India launched a missile codenamed “Operation Sindoor.”
The Pakistan-India conflict has sparked public reactions, with mixed responses. However, the recent ceasefire saw a massive celebration by both nuclear nations, as reported by The Guardian.
The Islamic World posted a viral video on X, claiming that the Imam of Mecca was praying for the people of Pakistan days after the conflict erupted between India and Pakistan.
The post has garnered 48k likes, 886k views, and 447 comments, spreading misinformation among social media users.
The video was also seen on Instagram, where it has 44 likes. DUBAWA also found that Qalb_e_hussain shared it on Instagram.
Due to the potential to mislead, DUBAWA decided to investigate the claim.
Verification
Using the Invid video verification tool, DUBAWA discovered that the video is a manipulation of an old video shared on Facebook on April 15, 2021, by Inside The Heramain. The platform publishes events from the two holy mosques in Mecca.
When the keyframes from the video were subjected to Google Reverse Image Search, DUBAWA found the identity of the Imam in the video as the Chief Imam of Mecca, Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais.
A careful examination of the video shows that the original video has been manipulated with flashes of a Pakistani flag popping up intermittently.
Part of the original video was transcribed as: “And free our necks and the necks of our fathers, mothers, spouses, children, relatives, kind, and those who have commanded us.”
However, the manipulated video came with a narrative: “We are Pakistan, O’ Allah, unite their hearts and unify their ranks on your book and Sunnah.”
When DUBAWA conducted a Google word search, there was no report of Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais offering prayers for Pakistan.
Conclusion
DUBAWA’s investigation proves that the Islamic World video is Al-generated. It was manipulated from an unrelated video of Sheikh Imam Abdurahman Sudais.
