Because it could mislead, DUBAWA decided to investigate.
Verification
DUBAWA searched official Ukrainian government communications and independent fact-checking reports to establish whether the claim was credible.
The official website of the President of Ukraine published updates on the same day about the president’s activities. On Oct. 14, 2026, Zelenskyy met King Charles III in the United Kingdom, and reports said he also spoke by phone with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney. On Oct. 15 and 16, 2026, he also held a one-on-one meeting with King Philippe of Belgium and the Prime Minister of Hungary. These official updates contradict the claim that he had been killed in an airstrike.
The BBC also reported on President Zelenskyy’s visit to Downing Street with Andy Burnham, the UK Prime Minister. News24 also covered his meeting with King Charles at Buckingham Palace.
Further verification on the official website of the President of Ukraine contradicts the claim that Zelenskyy was killed in the recent Russian strike on Kyiv. During Zelenskyy’s telephone conversation with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, he discussed the Russian ballistic missile strike, the damage to a residential building and an energy facility, and possible diplomatic developments. This official communication indicates that Zelenskyy was continuing to carry out presidential duties and publicly address the attack, contradicting the claim that he had died in the strike.
Conclusion
The claim is false. Official Ukrainian presidential communications published on October 14, 2026, confirm Zelenskyy’s continued public and diplomatic activities. The post provides no credible evidence that Zelenskyy was killed in a Russian airstrike
