Claim: A TikTok user shared a video clip showing Guardiola allegedly ranting at City’s dressing room after a woeful loss to Arsenal.

Verdict: Misleading. DUBAWA’s findings reveal that the TikTok video clip was sourced from a documentary teaser City shared on its X handle in November 2024. The yet-to-be-released documentary shows a visibly outraged Guardiola fuming at City’s squad to take responsibility, which is how they won four Premier League titles in a row.

English side and last season’s Premier League winners, Manchester City, are not yet out of the woods, as they currently sit fifth on the league’s table, 15 points shy of the top spot.
The Citizens (City squad) have undoubtedly had their fair share of woeful performances in the middle of the season, enduring five away losses from November to December and another humbling 5-1 defeat against Arsenal on Feb. 2, 2025.
Following the former Premier League leaders’ encounter at the Emirates Stadium two weeks ago, which saw them remain in the former fourth spot, a TikTok user, Nnakwe jr, shared a video clip showing City’s boss, Pep Guardiola, ranting at the dressing room at Etihad. The user claimed that the reaction was based on the loss.
In the clip, Guardiola visibly and angrily intimates a sombre-looking City squad that no English team has won the Premier League top flight four times in a row except the Citizens because it is a difficult feat. As such, they necessarily have to take responsibility.
“That was why no one did four Premier Leagues in a row! That is the reason why! It is so difficult! You have to take responsibility, my friends.” The Catalan tactician fumed in the dressing room.
As of Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2025, the TikTok post had attracted about 221,000 likes, 5,799 comments, 15,600 bookmarks, and 36,400 shares.
Other TikTok users reacted to the video and expressed their opinions about it. Some taunted the City boss, and others thought the video clip was unrelated to the City’s dismal encounter at the Emirates Stadium.
“Tell him to stay humble eh,” T.A. commented.
“Pep stay humble,” Aimee Bosand mocked.
“Premier League coaches are about to go crazy. Sharing Shratah wrote.”
“This video is old, and don’t make a mockery of Pep,” Morris Jnr. commented.
Due to the post’s sensitivity and virality, DUBAWA decided to verify its authenticity.
Verification
DUBAWA conducted a keyword search on Google and inquired about Guardiola’s alleged outburst. We found a Goal’s report published on Nov. 16, 2024, carefully detailing how City’s boss was filmed for the club’s documentary teaser, furiously charging City’s dressing room to take responsibility. The football news outlet carefully mentions that the incident was viewed in “behind-the-scenes footage.”
Goal further mentioned that the yet-to-be-released documentary explores how City became the first English side to win the Premier League top-flight title four times in a row. The documentary teaser shows Guardiola ranting at his players after a game. The platform article also shared the City’s official X page, where the teaser was first uploaded. DUBAWA checked the page and discovered the 17-second video clip is similar to the video file the claimant shared on TikTok. Alongside the X post, City added, “Making history is not easy. Get ready for the relentless ride of the 4-In-A-Row-Season!”
We also noticed that City’s teaser post on her X page was shared on Nov. 16, 2024.
Another observation DUBAWA made of the video clip is that Guardiola’s outburst happened at City’s dressing room in Etihad Stadium. At the same time, the Citizens’ playoff with Arsenal took place at the Emirates Stadium. Consequently, this puts a strong doubt that Guardiola’s meltdown happened after City’s loss to Arsenal, as claimed by the TikTok user.
Conclusion
The claim is misleading. DUBAWA’s investigation reveals that the TikTok video clip is a documentary teaser City shared on X.
