WhatsApp has added a new feature that allows users to edit sent messages. This new feature was announced in a statement by WhatsApp’s Blog on Monday, May 22, 2023.
WhatsApp is a free messaging and video calling Application (App) with over two billion people spread across 180 countries.
The Meta-owned messaging platform on Tuesday revealed that its users can now edit sent messages within the first 15 minutes.
“When you make a mistake or simply change your mind, you can now edit your sent messages. From correcting a simple misspelling to adding extra content to a message, we’re excited to bring you more control over your chats,” part of the statement reads.
To enjoy this new feature, WhatsApp users can open a chat, long press on a sent message and choose ‘edit’ from the menu within 15 minutes of sending the message.
The edited message will display “edited” to let the receiver know a correction was made without showing the edit history.

According to the messaging App, this feature has started rolling out globally and will be available to users in the coming weeks.
