A social media user, Chris Kieh, shared an image on his Facebook page showing a price breakdown. He claims this breakdown is the official transportation fares from the Ministry of Transport.

His post follows the government’s announcement of a reduction in transportation fares for travellers from Monrovia to various destinations across the country.
The post by Chris Kieh generated 13 comments and 11 likes, with several commenters expressing disbelief.
DUBAWA, the fact-checking arm of the Centre for Journalism Innovation and Development (CJID), decided to verify the claim as part of a mandate to promote truth in public discourse.

Our researcher contacted the claimant to provide evidence for his claim, but he refused.
The researcher further contacted Shadrick Destiny Brown, the Communications Director at the Ministry of Transport, who confirmed that the document posted by Chris Kieh is indeed the official one from the Ministry.

He also shared a link to the Ministry of Transport’s official publication of transportation fare adjustments for travel from Monrovia to various destinations across the country.
