The Nigerian Police Force (NPF) has said they are not recruiting.
This was contained in a statement on Sunday, July 9, 2023, by the acting Inspector General of Police, Olumuyuwa Adejobi, following several reports online that the NPF is recruiting.
The police advised Nigerians to disregard these reports.
“The Force wishes to reiterate and inform well-meaning members of the public that it has not commenced the 2022/23 Police Constables recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force contrary to the fake publication; states unequivocally that the advert has no connection with the Nigeria Police Force nor is it in tandem with the Police established recruitment process, and should be discountenanced in its entirety…The Nigeria Police Force hereby urges the public to disregard a recent police recruitment advertisement circulating on social media platforms.”
The NPF noted that when its 2022/2023 recruitment exercise commences, it will be announced via their official police e-recruitment platforms– https://policerecruitment.gov.ng and the Nigeria Police Force official website – https://www.npf.gov.ng.
The police also said recruitment will be advertised on national dailies and the police’s official social media accounts when due.
Therefore, the Force advised Nigerians to rely solely on the above-mentioned verified sources and platforms, urging all to exercise caution and vigilance to avoid falling victim to fraudulent recruitment schemes.
Recruitment advert, a phishing scheme
In some recruitment reports published six days ago by seed.com.ng and recruitmentboard.com.ng, we observed that the recruitment link shared- www.policerecruitment.gov.ng is fraudulent and different from both links provided by the police.
When you click on the link, it does not take you to any recruitment portal, but a warning tells you that attackers may be trying to steal your information.
