The 2024 Summer Olympics, officially the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad and branded as Paris 2024, was an international multi-sport event that occurred from the 26th of July, to the 11th of August 2024 in France.
Considered one of the greatest gymnasts of all time, Simone Biles is the most decorated gymnast in history and has carved her path with unparalleled brilliance and individuality.
Khole on Threads, posted that Fox News had reported that gold medalist Simone Biles was pregnant during the 2024 Olympics. The post was attached with a picture of a baby scan.
Similarly, a viral post, which includes pictures captioned “BREAKING NEWS: Fox News just reported that Gold Medalist Simone Biles Is Pregnant at the 2024 Olympics. ‘3 weeks gone’… See more,” has garnered 365 comments and spread rapidly across platforms like Facebook and X.
The virality of the post and the personality involved made DUBAWA verify the claim.
Verification
A thorough search of both FoxNews.com and the text captions from the Fox News TV channel reveals that the news network has not reported any developments regarding Simone Biles announcing a pregnancy or retirement.
Additionally, there is no evidence that Biles made such statements in late July 2024, as no credible records or indications that Fox News published and later deleted any related content from its website.
In our preliminary investigation, we discovered that the earliest instance of this rumour began circulating on Facebook in late July 2024. This initial post appears to be the origin of the false information that has since spread widely across various social media platforms.
We also did a keyword search and saw no credible news organisation reported the news.
The link attached to the post was also flagged as suspicious and had a low trust score on Scam Adviser.
Her posts on X and Instagram also do not show she is currently pregnant or participated in the Olympics with her bump.
Conclusion
The viral post appears entirely unfounded, with no legitimate sources backing the claims. No evidence was found on Fox News’s website, and no credible media organisation reported the claim.
