Full Text

A viral Facebook post by a page called Jadrolita Fans claimed that Jarvis returned to her former secondary school in Edo State, Nigeria, giving over 100 students scholarships and ₦200,000 each. The post included four photos showing a large group of schoolgirls, many dressed in purple uniforms, happily taking selfies with Jarvis, who is seen in a black and white outfit.

The caption reads,

“Jarvis visits her former secondary school in Edo State and gives over 100 students scholarships, 200k each. This is beautiful. Never forget where you came from.”

DUBAWA decided to investigate the claim due to its potential to mislead.

 VERIFICATION

A Reverse Image search and review of Jarvis’ public appearances revealed that the pictures were not taken in Nigeria, but in Sierra Leone, specifically at Methodist Girls High School (MGHS) in Freetown.

Jarvis visited Sierra Leone in April 2025 as part of a youth outreach and empowerment tour. During her visit, she met with several schools in Freetown, including MGHS, where she took photos with students and gave an inspirational speech. These exact photos were initially shared by students, teachers, and some Sierra Leonean media pages in April, months before the current viral claim started spreading.

Several students and observers from Sierra Leone have also confirmed that the images were taken at MGHS in Freetown, not in Edo State. The school uniforms in the photos also match those of MGHS students, and the school compound shown in the background confirms the location.

Since the pictures shared are visits to Sierra Leone and not Edo, Nigeria, it is doubtful that she also shared N200,000 with each student. There has been no credible news report confirming that.

CONCLUSION

The claim that Jarvis visited her former secondary school in Edo State and gave over 100 students ₦200,000 each is false. The pictures shared were taken in Sierra Leone, at Methodist Girls High School in Freetown, during Jarvis’ visit in April. Also, MGHS is not her former school.
