In recent days, a poster widely shared on WhatsApp claimed that Sierra Leone’s Ministry of Youth is recruiting casual workers for a nationwide program on Kush sensitisation. The flyer, which appears to bear the official logo of the ministry, states that applicants must be hardworking, at least 20 years old, and committed to the program. The program promises a daily wage of 300 New Leones.
It also lists a contact number (+23275082976) and sets a deadline of Tuesday, October 7, 2025.

The poster gained traction, particularly among young Sierra Leoneans seeking temporary employment. Several users even shared screenshots showing that they had already submitted personal information such as national identification numbers, WASSCE results, and contact details to the listed WhatsApp number, believing the recruitment to be genuine.

A fake recruitment flyer falsely attributed to Sierra Leone’s Ministry of Youth Affairs is circulating widely on WhatsApp.
However, DUBAWA decided to fact-check the authenticity of the claim to protect unsuspecting job seekers and prevent the misuse of personal data.
Verification
DUBAWA began by reviewing the official Facebook page and Website of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and found no such recruitment notice. Typically, legitimate job postings by the Ministry are published through its official website or verified social media platforms.
Furthermore, a Google search of the phrase “Ministry of Youth now hiring casual workers Sierra Leone” returned no credible news articles or press releases matching the claim.
To get an authoritative clarification, DUBAWA contacted Mr Frank Bio, an official from the Ministry of Youth Affairs, who firmly stated that “the poster is fake and the ministry has not launched any casual worker recruitment program.”
Additionally, DUBAWA found no announcement or mention of a Kush sensitisation job initiative on the verified pages of State House Sierra Leone or the Ministry of Information and Civic Education, which regularly publicise national awareness programs.
Conclusion
The viral job poster claiming that the Ministry of Youth Affairs is hiring casual workers for a Kush sensitisation program is false. The ministry has disowned the flyer, and no such recruitment is ongoing. Sierra Leoneans are advised to follow only the ministry’s official Facebook page or verified government portals for genuine updates.
