A Facebook page called Your Guy Champion shared photos showing a massive crowd of men, women, and children gathered outdoors at night. The caption suggests that the images are from Drizilik’s most recent show at the FBC Amphitheatre. The post has attracted hundreds of reactions and comments, with some users praising the turnout while others question the authenticity of the photos.

Because the post was gaining attention and had the potential to mislead the public, DUBAWA conducted a fact-check to determine whether the images were truly from Drizilik’s performance.

Drizilik, whose real name is Benjamin Menelik George, is a popular Sierra Leonean rapper, singer, and songwriter known for blending Krio rap, Afro-fusion, and modern hip-hop. He became widely recognised for his witty lyrics, creative storytelling, and ability to connect Sierra Leonean culture with contemporary music styles.

He first gained national attention with songs like Move Right, Pop Collar, and Shukubly, which became street anthems. His 2018 album Ashobi boosted his fame, earning him awards and making him one of the leading voices in Sierra Leone’s new-school music scene.

Drizilik is also known for his energetic performances and his push to take Sierra Leonean music to the international stage. He remains one of the most influential young artists in the country’s entertainment industry.

So the question is, are the viral pictures a true representation of what happened at the  Fourah Bay College (FBC) Amphitheatre? DUBAWA decided to fact-check the claim as part of our mandate to combat disinformation.

Verification

DUBAWA examined the photos and conducted a thorough comparison of the environment shown in the images and the actual FBC Amphitheatre where Drizilik performed.

The photos show a wide, open field with no visible stage, lighting structures, or amphitheatre seating arrangement. Instead, the crowd stands and sits on ordinary chairs spread across an open ground. In contrast, the Fourah Bay College Amphitheatre is a structured venue featuring tiered seating, designated stage space, and a unique architectural design.

Drizilik’s show, according to event updates and promotional materials, was held inside the amphitheatre, not on an open field.

These pictures are from Drizilik’s show, and the source is from Drizilik’s media.

A closer look at the images shows people standing with their hands raised, praying, and holding clothes, typical activities at a religious event, not a musical performance. There are no visible musical instruments, stage lights pointing toward a performer, or sound equipment, which are standard features of a concert.

Instead, the scene strongly resembles a night prayer gathering, where worshippers often assemble in large numbers in open fields. DUBAWA used Google reverse image tool to investigate the source of the pictures and when they were first published. The researcher found that the pictures were from a Great Redemption Crusade posted on Queen Biba Blog. This supports the conclusion that the photos were taken at a religious event, not at Drizilik’s musical show.

Videos and pictures shared by  Drizilik clearly display the amphitheatre setting, lighting stage, and organised concert atmosphere. None of them match the photos in the misleading post.

Conclusion

The claim that the photos show Drizilik’s show at the Fourah Bay College Amphitheatre is misleading. The images used in the post depict a prayer gathering on an open field, not a musical performance. Drizilik’s show did take place, but it happened at the FBC Amphitheatre, a location that looks completely different from what appears in the photos.
