A Facebook user, “Political Sycamoretree,” shared on a popular online platform, FRIES FM, claiming that Spoon TV Owner, Stanton Witherspoon, has bought Freedom FM 87.9 TV.
Freedom FM/TV is a media institution on Carrey Street in Monrovia, owned by Sam Siryon, a seasoned Security Expert.
His post comes amid flyers circulating on social media suggesting a planned media partnership between the two institutions.
DUBAWA conducted a fact-check on Political Sycamoretree’s claim because it could misinform.
Verification
The researcher contacted the claimant to provide evidence to back his claim, but he refused to answer the many inquiries.
Our researcher also contacted the station Manager of Freedom FM/TV, Kyne Oliver Kyne, who denied the claim and described it as false.
“This is false and misleading! We have no intention of selling Freedom FM, not now, and not in the near future. As for collaboration, there is a proposal to collaborate on programming mutually, but such conversations are in the embryonic phase.”
However, on Saturday, August 16, 2025, during the 31-minute edition of “SPOON TALK,” a widely listened-to political show, the SPOON FM CEO revealed a planned collaboration with Freedom FM to relaunch the show.
Conclusion
