A Facebook page, Biafrans Views Page, posted a video showing stacks of money kept in a room. The video’s caption read, “Welcome to b@ndits bank. This is Nigeria, where the terrorists are richer than the country.”
As of March 23, 2026, the video had 141,000 views, 152 comments, over 700 likes, and 75 shares.
Some comments under the post show that while some users believed the claim, others doubted that the video was from Nigeria and questioned its authenticity.
Real BC said, “What is the difference between the country and the terrorist?”
Khadijah Haruna Ardido stated, “I learnt former CBN Gov returned the sum of trillions, more bandits to be dealt with in the country.”
Rey Kizz Bgxon, however, disputed the claim, noting the currency is that of South Sudan. He wrote, “Currency of our country, South Sudan.”
DUBAWA decided to fact-check the claim due to its high engagement and potential to mislead the public.
Verification
DUBAWA submitted screenshots of the video to Google Reverse Image Search and found that the video was posted by a Facebook user named Video of Juba on March 10, 2026. The video’s caption read, “Is South Sudan’s Pound finally losing value?”
A closer look at one of the currencies in the video shows that it is not Nigerian currency.

DUBAWA searched for the currency and found that it is the 10 South Sudanese Pounds.

DUBAWA also found an article published on March 12, 2026, in a Sudanese newspaper, One Citizen Daily, in which an analyst called for an investigation into a viral video showing large quantities of South Sudanese pound banknotes.
Conclusion
The claim that the video shows a “bandits’ bank” in Nigeria is false. Findings confirm that the footage originated from South Sudan.
