A claim went viral on Facebook after a user, IzziBen, posted that the Bo Rangers Football Club had rejected an offer from a European club for their talented midfielder, Ibrahim Turay. The post said the Sierra Leone Premier League champions strongly rejected the offer and clarified that Turay is not for sale. The post made football fans believe that Bo Rangers are unwilling to release their key player, even when international clubs show interest.
This post quickly attracted attention, especially from fans of Bo Rangers and those who follow local football transfers.
Verification
DUBAWA first contacted the claimant to provide evidence about which European club requested the midfielder, but the claimant has yet to reply.
DUBAWA then contacted Solomon Demby, the Bo Rangers Football Club’s public relations officer (PRO). Mr. Demby denied Izziben’s claim. He said, “The club has not received any official offer for Ibrahim Turay from any European club. The claim is false.”
In addition, Demby explained that the club supports players who want to explore opportunities with international teams. “In fact, just within the first half of this season, about three to four players have been permitted to go on trials abroad,” he said.
He also mentioned players like Danti, Tormentor, and Eshik, who recently went on trials with clubs outside Sierra Leone. He then asked,
“If we allowed those players to go for international trials, why would we stop Ibrahim Turay if he had a similar opportunity?” This statement clarifies that the club has no reason to stop players, including Turay, from going abroad if the chance is real.
He stressed that Bo Rangers is a professional club that always puts its players’ interests first, especially regarding their career growth. DUBAWA contacted the claimant to provide evidence to support the claim, but didn’t reply.
Conclusion
Facebook user IzziBen’s claim that Bo Rangers Football Club rejected a European offer for Ibrahim Turay is false. The club’s PRO, Solomon Demby, confirmed that no such offer was made and that Bo Rangers continues to support players who wish to take up international opportunities.
