Information Minister Jerolinmek Piah, in a live interview with journalists upon President Boakai’s travel to Japan, claimed that former President George Weah spent 58 days out of the country during his regime.
DUBAWA decided to conduct a fact check on the claim made by Liberia’s Information Minister.

The researcher further searched the Executive Mansion’s official website, and it confirmed that former President Weah left the country on November 1 and returned on December 19.

Al Jazeera’s report also shows that the former President’s trip lasted 48 days.
At the same time, multiple local media reports, including Frontpage Africa and NewDawn, show that the President’s trip lasted for 48 days.
Conclusion
Based on reports from the Executive Mansion and other credible media outlets, Minister Jerolinmek Piah’s claim is incorrect.
