Liverpool suffered yet another loss at home, in a 0-3 embarrassing defeat to Nottingham Forest, marking their fifth loss in their last six domestic league games.

The Reds, who were looking forward to turning things around after a devastating 3-0  loss at the hands of Manchester City just before the international break, were utterly shocked by the visitors at Anfield at the weekend.

Goals from Murillo Santos in the 33rd minute, Nicola Savona less than a minute after the interval, and Morgan Gibbs-White 12 minutes before the end of the game were enough to elevate Forest two positions atop the relegation table. Liverpool currently sits 11th on the Premier League table, a far cry from their 2024/2025 campaign, where they emerged league winners.

Amidst Liverpool’s unending woes, an X user,  @AnfieldPapers, claims that the club has sacked its coach, Arne Slot.

“Breaking: Arne Slot has been SACKED with immediate effect,” the X user wrote.

As of Sunday, Nov. 23, 2025, the post has garnered over 7 million views, 816 comments, 19,000 retweets, 46,000 likes, and 1,600 bookmarks.

While other X users wondered if the post was authentic, others were curious to know the aftermath of the development.

“Wow, they sacked him. Why?” @_anitaebube1 asked.

“I have yet to gather any official documents or information,” @MBESportHQ commented.

“Where to next?” @drillerofficial inquired.

“No way, after they just confirmed their trust in him,” @PauluzRFRM commented.

Due to the sensitivity of the post, DUBAWA decided to verify the post.

Verification

DUBAWA conducted a keyword search related to the claimant’s post. We noticed that while a few news outlets have broached the prospects of the Dutchman getting sacked, none have confirmed that Liverpool has sacked Slot.

Entertainment and Sports Programming Network (ESPN) reports that despite the recent losses experienced by the Reds, former Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp has advised the club to back Slot and be patient with him.

“After Jurgen Klopp left, I thought there would be an effect on the team — a negative one. There wasn’t. They ended up winning the league,” ESPN quoted Redknapp.

“Right time is a time for patience. People, pundits, everyone will be going crazy — ‘sack the manager!” The ex-midfielder further stated.

Express reported that Liverpool fans have continued to demand Slot’s dismissal during live matches, including the match against Forest. However, Liverpool has had no effect on that development.

Mirror also reported how “question marks” have been raised about Slot being in charge at Anfield, despite spending £450 million to revamp the team left for him by his predecessor, Jurgen Klopp. However, there are no reports that the club’s hierarchy has made a decision to sack him.

Moreover, no official announcement has been made via Liverpool’s website, X, or Facebook handle that the club has sacked its coach. DUBAWA also noticed that the claimant referenced @simonwriter as the source of the alleged development and discovered the handle is not a credible source.

Conclusion

No credible news outlet has reported the alleged dismissal of Slot. Moreover, no official announcement has been made by Liverpool that the club’s coach has been sacked. The claim is false.
