Verdict: Misleading. Although Hushpuppi was with Davido in the video, the occasion was the Afrobeats singer’s brother’s wedding in 2020. Moreover, the Federal Bureau of Prisons reports that Hushpuppi would be released on Mar. 15, 2029.

Popular afrobeats singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, married his longtime girlfriend, Chioma Rowland, in a white wedding in Miami, United States.
The wedding took place on Sunday, Aug. 10, 2025.
Amidst the wedding buzz, an X user, @JbrandyOfficial, shared a video claiming that convicted cybercriminal and social media influencer Ramon Abbas, popularly known as Hushpuppi, attended Davido’s wedding in the US.
The video is labelled, “Hushpuppi attends Davido’s wedding in Miami spraying $100 bills.”
In the video, Hushpuppi makes merry with Davido’s brother, Adewale Adeleke, and quickly takes a picture with the singer.
As of Monday, Aug. 11, 2025, the claim has attracted over 770,000 views, 578 comments, 1,000 retweets, 7,500 likes, and 1,300 bookmarks.
In the comment section, while some X users wondered whether the cybercriminal had been released from prison, a majority believed that he was still incarcerated.
“He’s free?” @DrOkpala inquired.
“This was in Dubai years back before he was arrested,” @HEARTOFGOLD2 commented.
“Hushpuppi is still in prison till August 2029,” @Ayoappeal asserted.
Due to the personality involved and the controversy over whether Hushpuppi remains incarcerated, DUBAWA decided to verify the claim.
Verification
We submitted the video’s keyframes to Google Reverse Image Search, leading us to a similar video posted on YouTube in 2020.
The YouTube video “Davido’s brother weds in Dubai” shows Hushpuppi spraying money on Davido’s brother, Adewale Adeleke. Davido engages the duo in a video capture. This was before Hushpuppi was sentenced in the United States in 2022.
The Nation also reports that the social media influencer was present at Adewale’s wedding in Dubai. Daily Trust also reports a similar development, mentioning that Hushpuppi was seen “spraying hundred-dollar bills at Davido’s brother’s wedding.”
Information on the Federal Bureau of Prisons’ (BOP) website revealed that Hushpuppi would not be released until Mar. 15, 2029.
Conclusion
The claim is false. The video circulating is of Davido’s brother’s wedding, which took place in 2020.
