The post quickly gained traction and went viral on various social media platforms, gathering thousands of reactions and comments, with fans and loved ones congratulating the Senegalese star on his achievement off the pitch.
The claim about Sadio Mané and his wife welcoming twin babies went viral on social media, prompting confusion among fans. The same post was shared on multiple social media platforms: see here, here, and here. Hence, DUBAWA found it necessary to fact-check the claim to clarify the truth and curb misinformation about the player’s family.
Verification
A reverse image search shows that no credible news outlet or official football source published the alleged image. The photo bears clear signs of AI generation, such as unnatural textures and hand distortions, a common indicator of AI-generated imagery.
According to multiple outlets, including The Sun, Liverpool and The Custodian, Mané and his wife welcomed their first child, a daughter, in March 2025. His club Al Nassr also congratulated the couple on welcoming their first daughter, with no mention of the couple having twins.
In addition, the Scottish Sun confirmed that Mané dedicated his goal in Al Nassr’s 3-1 victory over Al-Kholood to his newborn daughter, not twins.
Given that these official announcements and congratulatory messages were made in March, and the claim was made in August, could it be possible that Mane may have given birth to premature twins?
