Claim: “No representative in the history of Liberia has ever gotten more than 67% votes,” Representative Marvin Cole says.

Verdict: False. Former representatives George Mulbah and Fallah Kparkar received more than 67% of the votes.
Full Text
Bong County Representative Marvin Cole said that the Citizen Movement for Change (CMC) is the third-largest political party in Liberia.
He attributes this to his party’s ability to help him win more than 67% of the votes in the 2023 elections.
Cole is quoted as saying, “No representative in the history of Liberia, in any political activities, has gotten such a percentage.”
Cole can be heard from 2:40:20 to 2:40:32 of an afternoon show, which garnered 13.9k views, 290 comments, 210 reactions, and 45 shares as of October 20, 2025.
DUBAWA verified the truthfulness of the lawmaker’s assertion because of the potential to mislead.
Verification
To begin with, DUBAWA started by investigating whether he had 67% of the votes cast in the 2023 elections.
The data does not support such a claim, as can be seen below.
According to final official results from the National Elections Commission, the district number 3 lawmaker got 19,488 votes, which constituted 61.51% of the total votes cast.

Screenshot of Cole’s election results marked green.
DUBAWA then went further to verify whether, indeed, no one had received more than 67% of the votes cast.
The researcher visited the official website of the National Elections Commission (NEC) to review the final representative election results from 2005 to 2023.
The sections containing the final representative results were down as of the time of this publication.
DUBAWA then contacted the Data Centre of the NEC for the offline copies.
The Data Centre is responsible for managing data, including the final results of elections at the NEC.
In response, the Deputy Director of the centre, Philip Toe, sent DUBAWA copies of the results via email.
The final results of the October 11, 2011, House of Representatives election show that former Bong County district 3 Representative George Mulbah of the National Patriotic Party (NPP) obtained 13,655 votes, constituting 82.1%.
In the same election, former Lofa County District 1 Representative Fallah Kparkar of the Liberty Party (LP) received 12,135 votes, constituting 69.8%.

Screenshot of the results marked red.
Conclusion
Therefore, Representative Marvin Cole’s claim that no representative in the history of Liberia has ever received more than 67% of the votes is false.
